3-D Secure solutions aim at helping issuer, acquirers, merchant, processors and card holders achieve compliance with Visa’s VbV, MasterCard’s SecureCode and JCB’s J/Secure programs. Within this context, each enrolled card used for CNP transaction is associated with a password to be entered online and validated by the card issuer, thus forming a sort of 2-D factor authentication.
